Did you ever have any real weirdos ? in your congregation who were Elders ?
by smiddy in.....some of the things he did and got away with , to me now is unbeleivable , and maybe to you.. in all fairness he was well versed in the bible and very clever how he used it to put a critic to rest at the doors and in one instance when i was witnessing with him , he demoralised a pastor of his church .and i was impressed at that time.. but he had some strange ways , he was always looking for someone to break gods laws so to speak .he did set himself up as the policeman for enforcing gods law on the congregations .
( this is my description ) he was known to stand outside bros/sis.
homes to see if he could find something incriminating against them .

Wait... for assemblies and conventions, don't they just use talk outlines already prepared by the Society (which they have to stick to with no deviation)????

Has the GB ever explained how they receive "new light" from Jehovah?
by cobaltcupcake ini remember a long time ago the explanation was that various anointed ones would write to the gb with the same new understanding of a teaching, the gb would investigate it, and if it was acceptable, they'd pass it on to the r&f.
of course, now we have the new light that new light occurs only to the gb, not the anointed at large.
so, if any anointed ones get new ideas, they're just apostates, right?.

They explained it in the May 15, 1955 Watchtower (pages 305 and 308):
Page 305…
16 From the many recorded experiences we next observe that the official “Word” transmits the message either by means of an angelic messenger who appears face to face or by the use of God’s holy spirit to inspire the nextagent in the line of communication . On special occasions even the Word himself might appear in a face-to-face interview with the next agent. Who, generally, is the next agent? For supernatural communications that reach the earth the agent (generally a human, although once the ass of Balaam was used) is referred to Biblically a prophet if he is a male servant of God or a prophetess if a woman. The prophet, in turn, speaks out the communication as God’s spokesman on earth. He publishes it to the many whom God intends to hear it if other than a single person is being specifically addressed. Theprophet then becomes the immediate earthly channel through which the waters of lifegiving truth are conveyed to earth’s thirsting residents. Thus Jehovah’s earthly channel of communication is identified. The earthly channel is either a prophet or a collective prophetlike organization .
Page 308…
TRUE Christianity as a revealed religion relies fully upon all the progressive revelations of Jehovah’s sacred pronouncements communicated to the earth from the time of Adam to that of the apostle John. Additionally we see how God has provided his Christian servants from Pentecost, A.D. 33, forward with a reliable channel of guidance for the understanding of these amazing revelations of his will and purposes. From the prophetic shadows to the actual realities we observe that this God-provided channel for Christians is the collective congregation of anointed ones who serve as a prophetlike organization under the leadership of its communicating head, Christ Jesus . –Eph 5:23

District Assembly Vehicle Parking Passes: $5.00
by Calebs Airplane ini've been out for a few years now, but when i was in, we frequently had to purchase "vehicle parking passes" several weeks before the start of our district assembly (depending on the coliseum or stadium being rented at the time).
it was usually $5.00 and you were given a 10" x 4" (or so) card with the assembly title/theme printed on.
according to the instructions from a branch letter that was read out loud (usually at the end of the service meeting), this card had to be placed on the right side of your dashboard such that the dub parking attendants can easily see it as you drive through the parking entrance.

"What about the times when people pray, and the JW's show up at that moment?"
Simple... the laws of probability in action... Knocking on every 2,213,630.047 doors will yield a praying householder.

"They (WT) took me out of context", Gail Bethea-Jackson video
by Fatfreek inthis is too important to bury within an old thread.
that thread hashed over several items of interest which you may want to read by way of a refresher: .
is gail bethea-jackson truly a doctor as the watchtower site claims?

Anyone who didn't have this card as they drove up was pulled aside and spoken to (not sure if they had to pay up then and there before proceeding any further, but they were definitely pulled aside).
Anyway, I've read several threads about assembly scams where the parking was included in the rental yet the dubs still had to "pre-pay" for parking before a certain due date... I'm just interested to know if you have ever had to purchase a Vehicle Parking Pass and what it costs in your district... Please do share...
Thanks

Why did Jehovah forget to buy all JW related domains ?
by mP inis the simple fact the wts forgot to buy domains like jwn etc proof that they are not guided by god ?
how could god be so blind and forget to buy jwn, and let apostates spread their lies ?.

Hermano & Lost 1 ... that's true... the poor friends won't find what they're looking for at TJ.org because it belongs to "Technology Jungle"...
However, someone in the Watchtower's IT Dept was apparently smart enough to meta-tag "TJ.org" in Google... In fact, when you Google TJ.org, the first result listed is jw.org ... But still... it's too little, too late. They missed the boat...
Felicidades!

Excellent question mP...
I'll bet certain brothers in the IT Dept were "removed" after they went from watchtower.org to jw.org...
By the way... in Spanish & Portuguese, the url should really be TJ.org (Testigos/Testemunhas de Jehova)... and their jw.org url gets even more incompatible with most other languages..
So they really missed an opportunity to secure language-specific domains as well...

typical circuit assembly
by nowwhat? inon the plus side there was good council about families and then there is that special feeling of the brotherhood you get.. on the negative side, the d.o.
gave the "ol talk about the "busier we are, it won't seem like the new world is taking so long" talk.
that's fine if you do'nt work for a living.
